On Wednesday, October 14 the day after helping Wales to qualify for their first major tournament since 1957. Gareth Bale surprised some lucky young footballer from the Sully Sports Club and delivered the one hundred thousandth football kit ordered from the McDonald's FAW Accredited Club Kit Scheme.
Gareth stayed with the youngsters for a good hour, taking an informative and fun training session with them.
The club would like to thank everyone who arranged this event for the kids especially Gareth. These types of events are priceless to our children and we are very grateful.
Sully Sports Football Club give local boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 18 the opportunity to train and play football along with the chance to enjoy and experience friendly, competitive league and cup matches.
The Club has an excellent record of success in cup and league competitions but our main purpose and aspiration is to see the youngsters enjoy playing football in a safe, friendly and managed environment.

Sully Sports FC’s under 14’s have a squad of 17 players who have progressed through our mini football teams to the junior’s sides. Last season (2013/14) they were the winners of the Sussex Cup and Vale of Glamorgan u14’s Football League 1 runners up.
Our under 13’s squad did the double winning both the Vale of Glamorgan u13’s Football League 1 and Vale of Glamorgan u13’s cup. The team went eight games unbeaten at the prestigious Selsey Whitsun Football Festival.
We organise a mini football festival every year at the end of the season. Our festival of football is for boys under 7’s to under 11’s and girls under 10’s and under 12’s and is held at our playing field in Sully in June. The family fun day has inflatables, stalls, face painting and football related activities and tournaments. There is also hot and cold refreshments throughout the day, so make a note in your diary!
Sully Sports Club has excellent football amenities which includes five senior football pitches, three mini pitches and an astro turf area for training; with changing rooms thought by some as the best in the Vale of Glamorgan. The club also has excellent social facilities with its own club house and regular events organised by our team of dedicated volunteers, coaches and managers.
Many of the senior football players have come through our various youth teams and then established themselves in either/both the first and/or second team. With both squads doing extremely well in the leagues and competitions they take part in, it proves our youth development policy really works and is a huge success.
Our various junior football teams have thrived over the last few years. The commitment, passion and hard work of local volunteers, coaches, managers plus a smashing group of parents, has played a major factor in this success.
We are always looking for new players to join our excellent football club. Therefore if your son or daughter is interested in “the beautiful game” and wants to develop new skills, make new friends and just have a really great time, give us give us a call on 02920 530629 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
